|  OBSERVATION:
Microstructure shows predominently ferratic dendrites at outer surface indicating decarburization in as-cast EN-8 sample.
USEFUL HINTS:
EN-8 material is used in heat-treated condition after casting. It is essential to observe decarburization right from casting stage. Many times it is believed that decarburization occurs during heat-treatment only. Quality control check by Microstructure of casting, before and after heat-treatmentstage would helpto eliminate decarburization. |
