Can our company expect a discount over your current testing charges?

We would like to clarify that as per TCR Engineering company policy we can allow 5% discount to our Regular Customers whose turnover is Rs. 60000/-(or $2000) in one financial year with us. If the said turnover exceeds to Rs. 1 Lakh then only we offer 10% discount on our testing charges.

What additional charges will be applied at your lab?

Please see our rate list for all your material testing requirements. We will charge additional costs if there are any machining charges that may need to be applied prior to testing your material. In addition, the law requires us to charge an additional 10.2% service tax.

Our charges for spectro analysis are as under -

Ferrous samples (upto 8 elements) = Rs. 400/- (US $15) per sample
Non Ferrous sample (upto 8 elements) = Rs. 600/- (US $20) per sample
Each additional element above 8 elements = Rs. 80/- (US $4) per element
Service Tax = @12.24% on total invoice value

What is the sampling size for Chemical Analysis of Aluminum Bronze & Copper Nickel Plancet out of a lot of 2 million pieces?

In general only one sample needs to be analyzed per heat batch but if you do not know how many heat batches are involved in a quantity of 2 million pieces, you need to find out number of heats by knowing capacity of the Manufacturer (i.e. furnace capacity / heat). If you know weight per piece, you can find total weight of 2 million pieces and dividing it by furnace capacity you can find number of heats. You can then select as many samples as the number of heats and all must pass the test in order for your to accept the consignment.

For our chemical analysis, we need a 15 - 20 gm sample only. Depending on weight of each piece, you can decide number of pieces that you need to send us for analysis per sample.

What is the minimum sample quantity required and analytical procedure employed for copper analysis?

TCR can find copper content to the tune of PPM level (up to 0.0001%) by ICP / AAS methods. Please send at least 2 gm sample (without any trace of base metal) for this purpose.

What dimesnions are needed to do the Erichsen Test on aluminum sheet?

We need minimum 75 x 75 mm for one impression. We recommend 75 x 200mm size if possible.

Why are we charged the service tax in India for work done in your lab?

With regards to service tax charges, please note the following as listed in the Service tax act 2005 in India. We quote from this act below:

"Provided that if such recipient has any commercial or industrial establishment or any office relating thereto, in India, such taxable services provided shall be treated as export of services only if-

1. Order for provision of such service is made by the recipient of such service from any of his commercial or industrial establishment or any office located outside India;
2. Service so ordered is delivered outside India and used in business outside India;
   and
3. Payment for such service provided is received by the service provider in convertible foreign exchange;

  (ii) Such taxable services which are provided and used, other than in or in relation to commerce or industry, if the recipient of the taxable service is located outside India at the time when such services are received."

Please note that as since the service is not being rendered outside India, this tax is applicable.

Certifications can be e-mailed in PDF format to be viewed and printed in Adobe Acrobat. Prior to us sending out the test results on email, please ensure that any outstanding payments are made.

How big must the sample be for Optical Emission Spectroscopy?

Ideally the sample should be at least 1” square and 0.050” thick to prevent leaking of light and gas from the aperture during excitation and to prevent the sample from melting during excitation.

How much weight do I need for Inductively-Coupled Plasma Atomic Emissions Spectroscopy (ICP)

The required weight will depend on the sample and material being tested. Generally, TCR material testing laboratory in Navi Mumbai India likes to have at least 5 grams of material for analysis. Whenever possible, more is better, to have extra material for rechecks if a material is found to be out of specification, or for resampling if a problem is encountered during sample preparation.

What is the standard turnaround time for tensile, charpy, bend and hardness testing?

On the day your order is received, it is processed in our Order Entry Department and sent to testing. Our standard turnaround to perform the testing and prepare your Certified Test Report is usually 4 additional business days. Same-day, 24-hour, and 48-hour rush services are available for most orders at an additional charge.

How do i show that my product meets my clients specification?

First, find out what the requirement is from your customer contract officer or purchasing agent. This is usually documented in a written specification. Try to get a copy of the specification. Phone or email us to see if we can perform the type of testing you need, then fax us the pertinent parts of the specification along with a description of your product. We will review the specification and give you a price and turn around time for performing the tests. Once we perform the tests, we give you a report, which you show to your customer as proof of compliance.
