It has been a long established fact that a minor mix-up in the material could result in a major mishap and huge financial losses for the user. In order to prevent this from happening, all quality conscious project managers are increasingly prescribing Positive Material Identification at each stage of plant commissioning. Mix up can be at the vendor’s end, during storage at the user end or at the time of actual fabrication. Thus, if PMI exercise is done at all these levels, a 100% confidence can be built up in as far as material mix-up is concerned.

We have so far completed more than 200 assignments. We have carried out PMI under third party inspection of EIL, Lloyds, KTI, TUV,DNV & BARC.

Can you conform material of construction (in-situ) for fittings of our super heated steam line by alloy analyzer?
TCR Engineering Services of Mumbai, India. routinely performs XRF based Positive Material Identification (PMI). We would require 3 to 4 days of notice to mobilize our engineering team. Please note that the team along with the XRF based instrument will be provided to you from our office in Mumbai, India. There will be a per day charge for on-site work including T&E charges.

What is the accuracy of your PMI instruments?
The accuracy of our PMI x-ray based instrument is +-5%. The calibration takes place daily and is accurate for elements including Cr, Ni, Mo, Ti, Cb, Ta, W, Co, V.

Can I get the tolerances for X-MET 3000T?
X-MET 3000T upon calibration gives an accuracy tolerance of ± 5% for higher concentrations (more than 5%) and ± 10% for lower concentrations (less than 1%)

What are your charges for PMI testing?
We are pleased to inform you that our company is the pioneer in PMI and we are the most well equipped and experienced organization in this field in India. We shall be pleased to undertake your job anywhere in INDIA. Please note that we do not charges mobilization charges and also do not chares as per spot basis. We charge on per day basis.
Charges for work in Mumbai is US $ 250 per visit inclusive of transportation charges. During a visit, we may carryout up to 300 spots. If you have only a few spots work in Downtown Mumbai (Mumbai - 4 area), then we can charge you for half days work at US $ 125 only.
Outstation charges will be US $ 250 per day or part thereof (No Half Day Please) plus cost of Air Fare and Local Transportation. A Service Tax of 12.24% is also applicable.

Can you % Carbon on our requirement of testing of over 1000 MT of billets per month?
We are pleased to inform you that we can organize the kind of testing needed by you. As your requirement is large and it is on a long term basis, we can plan to bring back our instrument presently deployed with our associate comapny TCR-KIL in Kuwait.
Please note that accuracy of analysis will be ±0.02 to ±0.03% in the range of 0.6 - 0.8% Carbon and approximately 100 locations can be analyzed per day. Grinding of sample surface will be your responsibility.
We also would like to give an alternate proposal for analyzing your sample on our world famous LECO Automatic Carbon / Sulphur Analyzer. This will require sample in chip form and we shall organize the entire exercise for you on a long term contract basis. Our people will organize drilling will be tested at our lab and we can give you result of up to 100 samples per day. We shall mark each & every billets and make sure that sample is drawn from a depth of 6mm so as to ensure that there is no effect of decarburization. This option will give you more results with an accuracy of ±0.01%. Each tested billet will carry our identification marking and a unique number.
